Is the Media portraying the Electronic Cigarette fairly?

If you are interested in smoking the Electronic Cigarette, you may also be interested in learning a little more about it before you purchase. If you want to do that, I have created a website with all sorts of topics and ways in which the Electronic Cigarette may benefit you. If you want to look other places, such as recent news articles, you may certainly do that to. In the news articles, you will most likely see some positive news and some negative news.

I have read many, many articles about the E-cig and have seen all sorts of different feedback. I have seen doctors who have tried the product and have liked it and have seen the benefits it can bring to a smoker. Yet others have said that they would not endorse it because it has not undergone proper testing. I have seen reports of people who have tried it and did not like it and then I have seen those who absolutely love it. So there are many mixed feeling about the electronic cigarette.

However, I have been seeing quite a trend appearing in the comments of most of these news articles. What I have discovered is the outrage of a lot of people who are angry about what the news is saying and even about what some of the "experts" have been saying. The people are upset that the news and "experts" are downtalking this product without any real evidence. After almost every article that speaks negatively about the electronic cigarette, I read testimonials of people who have used the electronic cigarette to successfully quit smoking tobacco cigarettes. To view an example, check out this news article and the comments left. You can also just google "electronic cigarette news" and you will see a lot more of the same.

A lot of people feel the the tobacco industry lobbyists are behind all the negative news about this product as it could cut into their revenues. They also state that the tax revenues on tobacco cigarettes brings in a great sum of money for the government and many people feel this is another reason why bad news is being passed about the electronic cigarette.

The one thing that I know for absolute certainanty is that tobacco cigarettes DO cause cancer and many other health problems. This has been proven time and time again. I see testimonials on TV commercials all the time about people who have lost their ability to talk from cancers caused by smoking tobacco cigarettes, or about those who have suffered through chemotherapy from some other cancer caused by their tobacco smoking. So we know for certain that tobacco is very harmful to our bodies.

But the final decision is yours. Do you want to keep smoking tobacco cigarettes which absolutely leads to cancer or do you want try out the electronic cigarette and see if it can get you off those tobacco cigarettes?

Is the Electronic Cigarette safe?

This is a question that many people first ask when they begin talking about the Electronic Cigarette. It's a bit of an odd question coming from people who are already smoking tobacco cigarettes as they smokethem knowing that they definitely are not safe. Tobacco cigarettes have been proven without a doubt to cause all sorts of cancer and to diminish the health of the user in all sorts of other ways.

However, it is also a very reasonable question to ask. When you put the electronic cigarette up against a tobacco cigarette, the answer to that question is a definitive YES, they are much safer than the tobacco cigarettes. They do not contain any carcinogens, tar, carbon monoxide, ammonia, or any of the other 4000 substances that can be found in tobacco cigarettes.

While studies have not been conducted on humans about the affects the electronic cigarette has on a human, there have been studies conducted on mice which show that the mice have been unaffected. Electronic cigarettes are currently not FDA approved being that they are such a new product, but they very well may be in the future as they gain more popularity and find their place in the market.

So, while you should not begin smoking the electronic cigarette if you do not already smoke, the E-cig certainly is a wonderful, much healthier smoking alternative to the tobacco cigarettes. The electronic cigarette vapor which is produced and inhaled is approximately 99% water and 1% nicotine, and does not contain any other substances which are know to be harmful to the human body.

So you must decide for yourself. Do you want to give the electronic cigarette a try, or do you want to keep smoking those tobacco cigarettes which are 100% tested to positively cause cancer and other illnesses. The choice is yours.

Understanding the Electronic Cigarette

The Electronic Cigarette is a revolutionary product which is helping smokers of all ages get back their health by allowing them to continue smoking without all the toxins and harmful substances associated with inhaling tobacco smoke. Not only that, but people all over are also finding the electronic cigarette to be a very helpful tool to use to quit smoking. Anyway, on to explaining just how the electronic cigarette works.

The E-Cig consists of three main parts. You have the battery, the atomizer, and the nicotine cartridge. I will explain these in the order of least complicated to most.

The Battery - It is just that, a battery (lithium battery to be specific). This battery is also found in many common, rechargeable items dsuch as your cell phone and digital camera. Lithium batteries are used because they have a relatively short recharge time and great battery life and use time.

The Nicotine Cartridge - This cartridge contains the nicotine fluid which is inhaled by the user. This cartridge can contain different amounts of nicotine which can usually be specified during ordering. There are high-nicotine cartridges, medium-nicotine, low-nicotine, and zero-nicotine cartridges.

The Atomizer - The atomizer is the most complicated portion of the electronic cigarette but still relatively simple. When you inhale on the nicotine cartridge, it pulls air into and through the atomization chamber. The air is then atomized and heated by a small heating component in the atomizer. Then the air passes through the nicotine cartridge allowing the nicotine particles to adhere to the vapor which is then inhaled by the user.

So with the electronic cigarette, the user gets his/her nicotine fix and without all the harmful substances which are in tobacco smoke. So there you have it, this is the way that the electronic cigarette works. To learn even more, please visit www.sharpsmoker.com

Taxes on Cigarettes Out of Control?

As the health kick in our nation continues, smokers seem to be taking more and more of a hit. There are continually less and less public places in which smoking is allowed. On top of that, states are beginning to increase taxes on cigarettes in an effort to get people to quit smoking by simply making it to expensive to continue. Smokers also seem to be suffering from governments inadequacies to manage their budgets leading them to impose greater taxes on cigarettes to help balance their budgets.

An article in the USA Today states the following about the taxes on cigarettes. "Fourteen states have raised tobacco taxes in the past two years, according to the Tobacco Merchants Association, an industry group. With the economy in a slide, legislation asking for increases is pending in 19 other states. They include a proposed 50-cent increase in South Carolina, where the current 7-cent tax is the nation's lowest."

New York state just raised its taxes on cigarettes from $1.25 to $2.75 per pack. If you happen to also living in New York City, they charge an additional $1.50 per pack, for a grand total of almost $9 per pack in the city. That is enough to make anyone think twice about their addiction to smoking and look for ways to quit.

However, with the great technology we have today, a new product has been created which can allow you to continue to smoke, and at much cheaper prices than you are currently paying for tobacco cigarettes, regardless of whether you are paying $2 per pack or $9 per pack. This product is called the Electronic Cigarette. Its use is identical to that of smoking a normal tobacco cigarette, but this product contains no tobacco and is a much healthier alternative to smoking tobacco cigarettes. There are also countless other benefits to the electronic cigarette. To learn more about this wonderful product, click here.

First Experience with the Electronic Cigarette

I am starting a business selling Electronic Cigarettes and a few days ago I received some samples from a couple of manufacturers so that I could compare their products. Anyway, it is still legal here in North Carolina to smoke in bars and restaurants. However, being that my full time job is as a corporate pilot, I am often in places where smoking has been banned from restaurants by state laws. I was just recently down in Key West, Florida, a state where smoking has been banned in restaurants.

Anyway, I am getting ready to go out and test the reaction from people for the first time in a place where you are not typically allowed to smoke. So I catch a shuttle from my hotel to the downtown area and go to a place called the Conch Shell Republic (which, by the way, is a really cool restaurant and has some great food and fun atmosphere). When I first got there, I noticed others smoking and was a bit baffled as I was under the impression you were not allowed to smoke in restaurants. What I did not realize was that this was basically an open air restaurant so smoking was permitted. Bummer. Well, my luck was soon to change.

So I am sitting there at the bar drinking my beer and smoking my Electronic Cigarette. A waiter comes up and sets an ashtray down, but quickly realizes my "cigarette" is not lit and says "Oh, sorry, thought you were smoking." I tell him that I am but I won't need the ashtray. His face showed the expression of being a little baffled but he keeps his ashtray and attends to some other customers. This happens one more time with another bartender but he leaves the ashtray anyway.

I order my meal and about halfway through it starts to rain and they lower all the garage doors around the perimeter of the restaurant making it an enclosed restaurant which now means we are no longer allowed to smoke. So they go around and start collecting all the ashtrays and getting people to extinguish their cigarettes. I am getting a little excited now to see what happens. So I finish my meal and I get out my Electronic Cigarette and begin to puff away again. A bartender comes over and asks me to put out my cigarette so I simply set it down on the bar and say OK, it's out. He is quite confused at this time. He begins asking me about it and I explain to him what it is and how it works and I ask him if I can continue to use it. He allows me to (as it does not fall under the no-smoking laws which have been passed) and I continue to smoke. Pretty cool.

So that was my first experience using the Electronic Cigarette where smoking is outlawed. If you are interested in learning more, just click here or visit my website at www.sharpsmoker.com.

Death by Fires from Un-extinguished Cigarettes

One of the many dangers associated with tobacco cigarettes derives from the negligence of its users to properly dispose of them when they are through smoking them. Often times, people fail to completely extinguish their cigarette before tossing it out the window of their car, throwing it in the nearby garbage can, tossing it in the shrubs nearby, or even falling asleep in bed without putting it out. Unfortunately, such acts can have devastating affects if the cigarette winds up in a spot in which it can ignite nearby items resulting in a fire.

An article written in the USA Today states that "Cigarette fires have been the top cause of U.S. fire fatalities for decades, killing tens of thousands of people in the past 30 years, according to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), a research group that provides data for state and federal fire codes." So cigarettes are not just "a cause" for fire related fatalities, but the
'top cause. " The unfortunate part is that all these fires could have easily been prevented had the user simply been sure to completely extinguish his\her cigarette when through.

The article then notes that "Nationwide, nearly one in 10 fatal building fires begin with a cigarette and end with the death of a senior citizen." Now it does not dictate whether it was the senior citizens cigarette that caused the fire or if it was from some other person who improperly disposed of their cigarette near the senior citizens' residence. Senior citizens fall victim to these fires more often most likely due to their inability to move quickly and escape the fire. So however the fire was started, the outcome is devastating.

It unfortunately is easy to find stories of cigarette related fires which destroyed homes and possibly took the lives of its inhabitants. Just in my area, I was able to find several stories with a quick Google search of fires caused by cigarettes. Fire #1 | Fire #2 | Fire #3

While many states are pushing to pass laws which prevent cigarette sales unless they are of the fire-safe variety, also known as RIP (reduced ignition propensity) cigarettes, they hazards of them creating fires are still not completely gone. While they are up to 75% less likely to start a fire than a normal cigarette, if they end up un-extinguished in the wrong spot, they can still start a fire.

However, there is another cigarette product that can completely eliminate the threat of starting a fire. This product is the Electronic Cigarette. With the electronic cigarette, there is no need to ever extinguish anything because there is no flame at all associated with it. The electronic cigarette (E-Cig) utilizes a battery, atomizer, and a nicotine cartridge in order to deliver the nicotine to the user while smoking. There is no tobacco leaf and no combustion, so there is no fire hazard. Being that there is no tobacco, there are also a number of other benefits to the Electronic Cigarette.

As you can see, these dangers are real and they claim countless lives each year which could have been easily prevented. So if you are a smoker or know someone who smokes, please be extremely careful with your cigarettes and be sure to fully extinguish them when you are through smoking. Or, even better, buy yourself an Electronic Cigarette and completely eliminate your risk of starting a fire. The choice is yours!
